WELCOME TO IRDA

REAL ESTATE DeVELOPERS MAKE IOWA PROSPER

When building policy that benefits developments and strengthens the real estate market in Iowa, there are no better advocates than developers themselves. IRDA bands together industry professionals and bridges the gap between the private and public sector to draft positive legislation for real estate professionals across the state.

WHY WE EXIST

we bridge the divide between developers and government to create a better Iowa for all

Industry associations bridge the gap between the private and public sectors, functioning as an essential asset for companies of all kinds to maximize profit and reduce liability while executing visions for the future. After serving four years in the Iowa House, our founder Joe Mitchell, discovered that these associations do not exist superfluously. Organizations like these, when executed properly, have the ability to kill bills they deem hurtful, pass policies they deem helpful, and get a hold of bureaucrats who often seem unreachable.

As real estate developers, we bring tremendous value to the state of Iowa. Lawmakers know that. Although our government conceptually values development, this support is meaningless without an organized effort to advocate for specific policies and freedoms. This is a comprehensive plan to build that organization. With your support, Iowa’s real estate development industry will be protected and expanded in a manner that grants access to extraordinary opportunities.

OUR VISION

OUR MISSION IS TO unite developers for the purpose of protecting and expanding our interests at the state and local levels.

INITIATIVES

OUR advocacy IS A REFLECTION OF OUR MEMBERS VALUES AND the VOICE OF THE development community

IRDA advocacy will initially center around three issues: Tax Credits, Loans, and Regulations. These three categories have broad implications for developers in the state, and are generally able to be influenced by resources available to associations.

ECONOMIC Development incentives

IRDA advocates for the preservation and expansion of economic development incentives that often provide a bridge for the viability of projects, IRDA supports the protection and expansion of the following programs:

Lending Programs for Housing Development

IRDA works with the Iowa Finance to help protect and promote key programs including the Multifamily Loan Program and State revolving Fund Construction Loans.

FAVORABLE REGUlaTORY CLIMATE

Developers need certainty to make investments that will create value in communities while ensuring a return on that investment. Burdensome federal, state and local regulations can cause disruption in this investment. IRDA works to educate members on important changes at all of these levels and engagement with the appropriate government officials to advocate for a favorable regulatory climate.
